Founded in 1969, the Society began as an outreach ministry of the Lutheran congregation based at the Wren church of St Anne & Agnes near St Paul’s Cathedral.
Run by a small team of volunteers, we pride ourselves on running one of the friendliest concert societies and one of the longest running chamber recital series in central London.
Spanning over half a century of musical activity, we have had four different home bases: from St Anne & Agnes (1969-2013) we moved to St Mary-at-Hill near Monument (2013-2019) and then we had a four-year spell in midtown at St Giles-in-the-Fields, nestled between Bloomsbury and Covent Garden (2019-2023). Last autumn we decided to return to the Square Mile, and are now based at Holy Sepulchre Holborn - the National Musicians’ Church - as their resident concert society.
Our renowned Friday lunchtime recital series remains the Society’s primary activity, as well as occasional evening fixtures with our partner orchestras, the Albion Chamber Orchestra and London Contemporary Soloists.Find Out More Support Us
